Infertility Q & A

When should I seek care for infertility?

If you’re younger than 35 and haven’t conceived after a full 12 months of actively trying, you’d benefit from a medical infertility workup at Innovative Women’s HealthCare Solutions.

Women 35 and older should start seeking infertility support after six months of actively trying to get pregnant.

If you’ve experienced recurrent miscarriages, you may also seek infertility treatment.

What are the causes of infertility?

Infertility can result due to problems with the woman, the man, or both parties. In about 20% of cases, no specific reason for infertility can be determined.

Innovative Women’s HealthCare Solutions will evaluate your fertility status and perform any screening tests necessary to diagnose the cause of your infertility. They look for issues like:

  • Uterine fibroids
  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Dysmenorrhea
  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Menopausal syndrome

Additionally, they partner with reproductive endocrinology groups to expedite your access to advanced reproductive technologies.  Your male partner may also be evaluated for his sperm quality and quantity.

Regardless of the reason for your infertility, Innovative Women’s HealthCare Solutions provides the care you need up until you take your baby home.

How is female infertility addressed?

Treatment for infertility depends on the cause. Certain lifestyle changes, including proper nutrition and weight loss if you’re overweight may be recommended to help boost your fertility.

You may also benefit from certain hormone interventions and medications. If you have a condition such as endometriosis, you may need minimally invasive surgery to have tissue removed and fertility restored.

Innovative Women’s HealthCare Solutions offers some unique treatments for common fertility issues. These include:

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) ovarian rejuvenation

This is a low-risk, minimally invasive, and incision-free procedure that can reverse the natural ovarian aging process, with no downtime.

The ovaries are the organs in which your eggs develop. These “eggs” are released from follicles each month prompting your menstrual cycle or fertilization.

PRP ovarian rejuvenation uses a healing compound derived from your own blood to boost your ovaries’ function.

Uterine fibroid treatment

Uterine fibroids can interfere with fertility in some women. As an expert in fibroid treatments and author of “The Innovative Women’s Guide to Managing Fibroids Without Hysterectomy,” Dr. Miller-Thrasher has a unique approach to fibroid treatment that’s sought by patients from across the United States and the Caribbean.

She established The Fibroid and Reproductive Care Center as part of the practice. There, she uses traditional and alternative approaches that include nutritional interventions and supplements to manage fibroids.
